Screamin’ Beaver, an amped up version of our spring seasonal Beaver•River, is back by popular demand for a 2011 edition. Only 1,000 bottles of this delicious brew will be available for sale. This monster weighs in at 9.9% alc./vol. and 99 IBUs. Screamin’ Beaver has been dry hopped and aged on oak staves. Even scarier than the stats, this beer is incredibly drinkable and nicely balanced. Be very afraid.
History & Style
This year's edition of Screaming Beaver was brewed using a double-mash technique. This is an expensive way to brew, but the big malt character it creates is worth it!
Tasting Notes
Screaming Beaver first breeches the palate with shot of grapefruit then gives way to nuanced oakey, caramelly flavours and warming alcohol mouthfeel. The aroma mainly suggests vanilla and pear. A luscious interplay of vanilla and citrus flavours is evocative of creamsicle. This is one complex, contemplative beer.
Food Pairings
Strong cheeses, dark rye breads, spicy sausages
